String Ensemble
Join the String Ensemble to learn violin, viola, cello, or double bass, whether you're a beginner or have prior experience. Students perform at school events and the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation.
The Henry Park Primary School String Ensemble CCA is made up of students of diverse backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common – a passion for music. Our CCA is made up of two teams – the school team, and the beginner team. In both teams, we seek to grow the interests and talents of every student and give them opportunities to learn new skills and values.
In the beginner team, students with no prior knowledge of playing a string instrument can join and start learning a new instrument. They can choose from the following instruments:
1. Violin
2. Viola
3. Cello
4. Double Bass
In the school team, through playing together as a team, students with prior knowledge of playing a string instrument learn skills and values such as:
1. Ensemble skills
2. Musicianship
3. Teamwork
4. Resilience and Perseverance
5. Self-Discipline
We have regular performance opportunities for our String Ensemble, such as:
1. Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation (SYF AP), where the students perform on a national level and get feedback from industry professionals (we obtained Certificate of Accomplishment in 2026)
2. School concerts and events
3. Outdoor and external performances to serve the community
Playing in a String Ensemble is very different from playing the instrument individually. If you can play a string instrument, come join us and be part of the team!
