English Oratorical Club
Join the English Oratorical Club to build confidence in public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork under the guidance of qualified instructors.
The English Oratorical Club develops pupils’ confidence, critical thinking and communication skills through discussions and structured debates. Pupils learn to express ideas clearly, listen actively and respond respectfully to different perspectives. This CCA seeks to develop pupils into confident communicators who can think critically, consider different viewpoints, listen and respond respectfully.
In addition, pupils also research topics, organise ideas and develop teamwork, resilience and respect for differing perspectives.
Selected pupils participate in inter-school debates such as the annual Wits and Words Debate Competition and other speech competitions that further strengthen their confidence, teamwork and communication skills.
